THE RESULTS ARE IN:
SONIC CLEANED FILTERS BETTER THAN NEW! Southwestern Research Institute does not recommend nor endorse Sonic Dry Clean but has only supplied test results.

Southwestern Research Institute (SwRI) in San Antonio, Texas, a nationally recognized independent testing laboratory of unquestioned technical capability and equally unquestioned professional integrity, conducted tests on the cleaning effectiveness of the Sonic Dry Clean process on diesel air filters.

The tests were conducted in SwRI's Engine, Fuel, and Vehicle Research Division. Sonic Dry Clean, Inc., supplied SwRI with four filters.


They were identified as follows:


SDC-0 -- meaning the first filter was a new Caterpillar filter.

SDC-2 -- meaning the second Cat filter had been cleaned twice by Sonic.

SDC-2 -- meaning the third Cat filter had been cleaned twice by Sonic.

SDC-3 -- meaning the fourth Cat filter had been cleaned three times by Sonic.




Testing was conducted in accordance with the SAEJ 726 JUN87 Air Cleaner Test Code. Each Caterpillar filter element was installed in a IP7330 Caterpillar housing with 6I3833 radial seal kit. Each filter element was visually inspected for workmanship and quality of gaskets before and after testing. No defects were noted, with each element showing a high level of workmanship.

We have reproduced with this article Table 1 of the final report. Labeled "Initial and Cumulative Efficiency and Dust Capacity," this table reveals the amazing result that a filter element after being cleaned three times (SDC-3) by the Sonic Dry Clean method, is 99.66% efficient in filtering out dust and other contaminants, which SwRI showed was 1.29% more effective than a brand new, never used filter!(See full results in table below)
